Yesterday morning it was reported to the Chula Vista police department that two vehicles at the same address were broken into on the West end of La Costa Ave. All valuables were stolen from both cars. There were expensive items in the cars and the cars were parked on a driveway. Both of the cars windows were broken to gain entry. The CVPD has asked that the association post a bulletin about the incident and to keep watch for any suspicious activity and to report it right away.
I contacted Eastlake II and they reported to me that there have been 9 other incidents of "smash and grab" crimes in the Greens. It is happening in different neighborhoods and in all cases the victims had valuables in the car in plain view.
I will be posting a notice in the bulletin board and would appreciate if you are able to talk with your neighbors and let them know what is going on.
Thanks and have a safe weekend!
